...link security equipment for transmitters, and someone from the IBA (the regulatory body for non-BBC broadcasting). At the time TV shut down overnight, but the transmitters kept listening on their inputs for a while in case it was a temporary drop-out in the feed. 2/2
I worked for an ITV station in the UK around that time, and we had something similar happen. A few months later I was chatting to a couple of students from the local university who admitted involvement. They said they'd been fed the necessary details by a company that wanted to sell... 1/2
Ideal. You don't want to actually *sell* any of the books...
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings. Look on my works and exclaim "What bunch of cowboys did this for you then? Should have had steelwork reinforcing the ankles or they'll snap right off in the first bit of wind."
They're the right wing "news" organisation in the UK. Farage adjacent.
Was once told Alec Guiness would not do video, had to be stage or film production.

And people say that Germans have no sense of humour.
The German company that makes the mechanical ladder used in the Louvre heist has used the image to advertise, with the text 'When you need to move fast'

10/10 response, no notes
Freinds of mine emigrated from the UK to USA about 25 years ago and now live in Florida. $85K joint income (retired but odds and ends due to specialist knowledge) looking at $40K to $50K next year.
Camberwick Green and Not The Nine O'Clock News respectively.
They'd probably miss PC McGarry and Constable Savage too...
Ex-staff at a Cambridge College rather than the other place, but most of the Fellows there did have a set. Large living room/study also used for teaching by those with Director of Studies roles, and a small bedroom often only used after formal meals. Bathroom depending on age of the building.

When Sam Altman talks about a 1GW AI data centre:

1GW over a month, released instantly, would be an 850 kiloton explosion.

A 1GW AI data centre uses as much energy as detonating ten 1-megaton H-bombs a year.

This sort of ties in with the @andreworton.bsky.social thread from a few days ago about the move away from multi-camera shoots. A half hour Yes Minister could be edited in a day, if it had been done single camera film style you'd be looking at a week or more.
It surprised me when I started working in BBC VT. Recording an episode of Yes, Minister from studio on a Saturday or Sunday evening, it was due in editing on Monday and transmission was Wednesday.

Exact days may vary, it was 45 years ago after all, but that's about the timescale involved.
Interviewer: "Why do you have six monitors?"

STP: "Because I don't have room for eight."
I shall have to sit and watch one for a while when they spread to more stations.
I'd have been tempted to make the arrowheads move round as the hour and minutes hands. It is nice, shape reminiscent of a buffer.

Looks for the price of round TFT screens...

Goes ouch and decides not at the moment.

Had the flu jab yesterday. Early night following but that could be due to watching SpaceX not have an impromptu fireworks display in the early hours and then being woken up just after 6. Slightly sore lump in the arm today and a bit sniffly, otherwise fine.
