We're probably never going to see another Sayo Yamamoto anime, and that honestly breaks my heart more than I have words to convey. I feel so much anger on her behalf. Fuck MAPPA.

Animehunch Team: You’ve worked as a producer on many popular titles, including Black Clover and Fullmetal Alchemist. However, you were also involved with Yuri!!! on ICE. This is something fans are desperate to ask about. The planned movie, ICE ADOLESCENCE, was officially cancelled by MAPPA, which left many fans heartbroken as they loved the series dearly. We know this is a sensitive topic, and you may not be able to discuss it, but fans would be incredibly grateful for any insight you could offer as to what went wrong or why the movie was ultimately cancelled. Hideo Katsumata: I can’t talk about the details, as that includes some very private matters. But if you ask whether it’s a creative or business issue, the reasons stem from the creative side. The main reason is that it couldn’t be made due to creative reasons. Since it was an original animation, the people involved—including the creators and the animation studio, MAPPA… among the creators, on the creative side, a situation arose where it just became impossible to proceed with production.

With the power of the serial port on the iphone notch, you can connect and securely screw a serial cable to swing your iphone around like a whip. It's both an improvised weapon and a trendy and fashionable way to carry your iphone.
a picture of bridget from guilty gear throwing her yoyo but i replaced the yoyo with a poorly photoshoped iphone with a serial port connected to the notch area. bridget is holding the other end of the cable

So this guy was pretty much wrong about everything.
Argath aka Algus yells "Animals have no God!!" like a jerk. The original translation of Final Fantasy Tactics is notoriously rough, but I always liked how blunt this line was.

100 Meters is very easily comparable to Look Back. But I think it touches on something more universal—not just for athletes, but for anyone with the courage to pick themselves up from success and failure and try again.

My review:
Like Look Back, 100 Meters scratches the itch of watching two people from wildly different walks of life wrestle with maintaining their passion. But where Tatsuki Fujimoto’s work spirals into grief and artistic obsession, 100 Meters stays grounded in the purity of the 100-meter dash, a brutally simple sport where runners have just ten seconds to prove they’re the fastest and etch their name into history. If someone’s a hair quicker, or your body fails you, you’re forgotten in the blink of an eye.

Although 100 Meters flirts with the ephemeral glory of being the best in a sport predicated on “who’s on top right now” over who once was, it never wallows in the futility of the Sisyphean pursuit of greatness. Even in its most agonizing defeats and major setbacks, it refuses to become grim. Instead, it finds beauty in the act of picking yourself back up and starting again—to compete not for legacy, but for love. For the joy of movement, and to run shoulder to shoulder with the like-minded people beside you.

Tetsuya Chiba is arguably the most undervalued mangaka outside of Japan. His lasting influence on the visuals of Japanese comics today is greater than that of Osamu Tezuka.

Tetsuya Chiba’s art! The flow of the action, the impacts, the sfx lettering, and the expressions have that kinetic oomph you need for selling meaningful fights indistinguishable from a modern boom. But it’s married to the more exaggerated body language + simpler character design ethos of the era.
An action-heavy page from Ashita no Joe

Crimson Horror is an 8-level romp by some of the best in the scene, with a bunch of extra stuff borrowed from Heretic/Hexen.
