professor é um bicho comédia: uma amiga tava contando q trabalhou no interior e a escola cogitando abonar falta do aluno q supostamente a mãe proibia de ir pra escola na lua cheia porque ele era o lobisomen e o pessoal argumentou que era válido pq era algo cultural, tipo qnd a pessoa é adventista.

Para quien le interese, hay una pequeña historia con la q empieza el fic, cito el comienzo d otro fic que me enviaron durante un Amigo Invisible d 2016 que nunca llegó a ser pero ha sido inspiración durante los ocho años q lo he arrastrado y sí, no es un longfic pero como si lo fuera. Ahí lo cuento.

Friends, some advice if you plan on spending time outside in an animal costume, sharing for no particular reason:

-You will sweat a lot more than you think. Have water/snacks

-You cannot move well (the Left Shark guy is a trained experienced professional dancer). Don’t run or you’ll trip and fall.

Our classrooms are not safe for us or regular students. Our universities canot be relied upon to protect us. You have to keep speaking up about this. Faculty already are, but we need folks who aren’t in academia raising the alarm for everyone else. The End.

These students even enroll in our classes so they can do a "gotcha" on us. Imagine this being your entire role as a student? Imagine having time for this!? But they are emboldened now beyond their wildest dreams.

There is a Professor Watchlist you can look at if you can stomach it. Obviously, this campaign has been mainly (not always but mainly) targeted at folks of color, LGBTQ folks, and women until now.

I know people personally, tenured and not, who have endured horrendous harassment that has required campus security walking them to and from class or their cars, having other people handle their email to filter out threats, and people showing up at their offices or calling repeatedly.

Those years helped to firm up ideas of what the parameters of "academic freedom" needed to be, though. That is why professors now are always insisting on the importance of tenure. Tenure is supposed to provide certain protections so that you can speak and write about your research freely.
