honestly I look at the rise of AI and the destruction of any science-agency jobs and of higher ed and despair at, "Is there even a career I can counsel my students into in good faith?"

I’m sure you are aware that the VAST majority of child abuse (both physical and sexual) is perpetuated by family members.
