in stark contrast to the high speed close pass from a pickup towing a huge trailer last week;
here’s an A+ pass from a driver who slowed down enough to let there be room in the left lane so he could give ample space when passing me.
all it took was an extra 3 seconds.

Imagine not only “losing” the Nobel Peace Prize, but also being specifically sub-tweeted by the decision-makers for your efforts to destroy democracy. Trump loses big. Congratulations Nobel Committee, well played.

'When authoritarians seize power, it is crucial to recognize courageous defenders of freedom who rise and resist,' the Norwegian Nobel Committee said as it announced Maria Corina Machado as the winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize

As a former elementary school teacher who is married but hasn’t had kids—I have never been more frightened for the future of our society.
And I’m relieved I’m no longer in the classroom because there’s no way these fucks are telling me how to teach.

From the memory hole: There was a hostage release and ceasefire deal in place by the Biden administration 10 months ago. It was allowed to expire in March, under Donald Trump, and now it's been revived and rebranded, with Donald taking full credit like always.

school buses, bikes, scooters, and their own 2 feet, all exist!!
I don’t understand the obsession with driving kids to school.

this family was just trying to make it from the playground back to the neighborhood.
a ditch on 1 side; 45mph traffic on the other—with no protection from either.
Houston’s mayor thinks this is fine.
can you believe people actively opposed a plan to make this a buffered 10’ multi-use path?

a) “oh we can’t afford those”
b) “oh they’re dangerous my kid won’t be safe from bullies and 8 yr olds with brass knucks and knives!”

why would we design school zones to look safe and attractive with fun mobility for students when we can have this instead?!?!?

#Houston safe passing ordinance:
•3’ for cars
•6’ for trucks/commercial vehicles
This driver gave neither, with his giant trailer coming even closer.
All to pull across the bike lane into a turn lane—instead of just slowing down and going safely behind me.
Video is 1/4 speed.

I want everyone to make fun of Houston because maybe it’ll embarrass the city enough to change things.

Last month Judge Diane Goodstein blocked SC from giving DOJ voter data.

Last week Harmeet Dhillon of the DOJ condemned Goodstein's ruling.

Yesterday Stephen Miller called "left wing judges & lawyers" as "terrorists requiring force."

Today Judge Goodstein's home is on fire, investigated for arson.

never let them tell you ‘cars = freedom.’
it’s a lie.
it’s something drivers tell themselves to justify the expense of car ownership & hours lost sitting in traffic.
if the same number of bikes were backed up as cars shown here, it’d take up the same amount of space as only 4 or 5 cars.

More than one-third of Americans can't legally or physically drive, belong to households that can't afford a car, or otherwise can't rely on a personal vehicle to meet their daily travel needs, a new report finds — and that means millions of people are being left behind due to car-centric policies.
Report: A Third of Americans Can't Rely On Cars — And 16 Million Have No Access At All — Streetsblog USA
So why do we plan our cities like everyone can and does get behind the wheel every day?
