We must stand up to this hate and ensure this violence never becomes commonplace in our society.

Above everything else, like Sharone and her mother, my hope is that a lasting peace can be built in the region, a peace that makes both Israelis and Palestinians safer.

Since then, many hostages, including British citizens, have remained trapped in Gaza to this day. Jewish communities in the UK have also been faced with rising antisemitism, including the horrific attack in Manchester last week.

I've also been calling for this alongside many other Labour MPs.

While I hope that diplomatic pressure like this will bring us closer to a ceasefire and ultimately long-term peace, the immediate priority is that humanitarian aid reaches those in Gaza without delay. (2/2)

Although the horror in Gaza continues, we have reached a historic milestone by joining several of our allies in recognising a Palestinian state.

This move was promised in the Labour manifesto, and is part of our commitment to peace in the region and a two-state solution. (1/2)

This week I called for full investigations into the deaths of journalists and aid workers in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli military.

Journalists in Gaza have been targeted and over 1,500 humanitarian workers have been killed, with almost no accountability.

Changing ILR rules for those already here could put their access to education at risk. I spoke about the need for families to have certainty.

As many tax experts know, our tax code is horrendously complicated. HMRC reckon over a third of people fill in their own self-assessment report incorrectly.

Tax need to be simplified. What matters in this case to me is that Angela did not intend to underpay her taxes. (2/2)
