Dustin & Cody didn’t have the voting culture pushed on to them as kids (which I doubt) but their parents and American society did always push the boys to respect the President, no matter who he is, or what he stands for.
This resembles the deeply rooted problem Parliamentarism poses.

Self reflecting on why when I discuss topics with journalists it goes oddly.

I think for me, these are low stakes technical discussions I have every day.

I think for them, it's high stakes public discussions that involve their reputation.

That makes sense to me.
