As a manager it's important to surround yourself with people who aren't afraid to let you know exactly what they think.

I know for a fact that if members of my department ever heard me say "teamwork makes the dream work" they'd hop on a plane, fly to Idaho and punch me in the face.

Yeah.... the Idaho Live feed can be quite the fire hose.... It doesn't rank posts, and it doesn't do near the filtering that The Idaho Feed does. But if you want to know what's being talked about right this second, go for it--its entirely chronological.

Yeah, the Idaho live feed is not for the faint of heart since it's entirely chronological and I don't prioritize locals. I only really use it during breaking news, weather, etc. The Idaho Feed on the other hand is my jam. (And the Idaho Escape feed is my happy place)

I tend to think this is a bit overblown and a distraction from actual atrocities. but limiting non-locals from crowding our feed about this has nothing to do with my personal opinions. I occasionally have to mute posts about viral stories from folks outside Idaho to keep our feed usable.

I _hate_ doing stuff like this and _rarely_ do, but I'm limiting posts about Qatar training in Idaho for the next couple days as this viral news is drowning out other content. Only posts about it by Idaho Folks will rank on the feed, posts by people not on that list will not.

ATC are responsible for thousands of lives in a high stress environment.

They have to have a medical certification just like pilots.

If they are stressed/fatigued they *MUST* call in sick.

Tons of overtime + not getting paid + getting behind on bills...

Can imagine that'd cause stress/fatigue.

Sec Trans is threatening to fire Air Traffic Controllers who call in sick during the shutdown, blames Democrats.

They are already working long shifts 6-7 days a week. No juice left to squeeze. More will call in fatigued as this continues.

Firing them will destroy air travel. Good luck with that.

It's my hometown and its it's crazy to even think they are at NF...

Not sure where between riggings and Salmon my mind thinks they shouldn't move about but it's on the riggings end 😁 but certainly no higher than the middle fork confluence.

Straight shots of vodka are one of the exactly two forms of alcohol I can tolerate.

(The other is cider--so long as the ingredients are apples. Nothing else and certainly not any of that citrus bullshit)

I created it, so obviously I'm biased... But if not for the Idaho Escape feed I would never see photos like this from people I don't follow.

I very much recommend Idaho Escape for a good palate cleanse on those days when you need a break from bad news.
