Agricultural secretary says that SNAP benefits will run out before November. These are the consequences of the Senate GOP and Donald Trump not negotiating for millions of people who depend on the ACA. They simply don’t care if people don’t get their healthcare or STARVE!

10/We can't support #AssistedSuicide if everyone, regardless of income, disability, race, gender, etc., lacks access to all treatments that would be clinically indicated. That has to be the first step. Disabled lives matter, & they include every demographic. #DisabilityJustice #DisabilitySky

9/If healthcare parity doesn't exist but an #AssistedSuicide bill became law, that parity would be much less likely. Insurers aren't required to cover any medications or treatments so a person can live & are allowed to only cover #PAS. It's been done. Those are lives that shouldn't have been lost.

5/We know that the fascist in chief has said the #Disability community should be left to die. Ironic, as he is suffering from dementia, according to a family member who saw Fred Sr. go through it. #PAS is a form of eugenics--it's society's way of saying, "We don't want you; you're broken."

4/Disability rights orgs oppose these bills because we know what they do to our community. Most of the time, no fitness or cognitive ability-related exam is required for #PAS. A patient may not understand everything, but that has been ignored, so we can "save money." It gets uglier.

3/Most people who think they support what they call #MAID don't know what a given state or country's laws end up doing. The overwhelming majority of people who use #PAS are those who don't have private insurance or stable/reasonable incomes. That says A LOT about these bills. #DisabilityJustice

2/Center for Data Progress recently released a poll that indicated voters do NOT believe #PAS should be used for non-terminal situations, but in many cases (like Canada & even in the US), a PAS bill for terminal patients quickly evolves into or is the base for one about non-terminal patients.

1/ #PatientAssistedSuicide harms disabled people & those with complex health conditions. Even though it's often branded as only being for terminal patients, this has not been the case in every instance. Canada allows PAS for non-terminal patients. The US has allowed it, too. #DisabiltyJustice
