Am 1. 12. 1955 weigerte sie sich, ihren Platz im Bus für einen weißen Fahrgast zu räumen. Der Bus-Boykott von Montgomery war der Beginn des Endes der Rassentrennung in den USA. Rosa Parks starb am 24. Oktober 2005.

Zahl der Buchhandlungen binnen fünf Jahren um ein Viertel gesunken

Schnell mal zum Buchladen um die Ecke - das wird immer schwieriger. Obwohl die Branche mehr Umsatz macht, gibt es immer weniger Geschäfte. Das Statistikamt nennt auch mögliche Gründe für den Rückgang.
