When it comes to Renaissance paintings, I admit to being partial to a good, flat green (verdigris pigment) background, as it brings sitters forward, highlighting their presence.
Van Eyck, van der Weyden, Cranach, Bruegel used that shade of green. Here are some more (details in ALT).

Happy Februarius! Originally the last month of the #Roman year, February -the shortest month - later became the second month after calendar reforms. Named for februa, rites of purification, it was a time of cleansing & transition before renewal in March.

The date marks the end of the hunting season in Spain. 100s of Galgos are abandoned by the Galgueros (hunters)
This charity has done wonders in rehabilitating and rehoming them in UK, US, Europe. #DiaDelGalgo

They were carefully preserved because they served as valuable resources for weavers.

⏳ The City is accepting comments on the destructive Network Rail proposal right up until the committee meeting on 10th February - but the sooner you write the more likely your comment is to be read.
