Last night when I was burning off some weeds I’ve been busy slashing to get organic matter down to build and add nutrients to the soil. I’d like to get another 20 acres done before the big rains they predict early Feb and before calves start arriving as they notoriously get hidden in the long grass

It was always going to be a quiet New Year’s Eve for me but definitely will be now Just had about 100 ml in an hour with some more to come after a bit of a break. Kingaroy which is 60 km away is under water. Roads cut everywhere. Might not even make it to my front gate. Luckily I shopped on Saturday

Thinking I was doing something nice I invited the people across the road to put their 2 horses here as I have plenty of feed and they have none. After 6 days both with horrific but manageable injuries. The mare has somehow run into a low branch. We have her antibiotics and pulled it out.
