Refuge from that one letter. I miss dos games and the early internet.

It's just so great to tune in briefly to national news coverage of all the No Kings stuff and have people say "and here's another person in an inflatable costume" and then go into why/how it all started here.
FWIW the whole Don't Obey Frog thing is like... that's Portland. Weird funny zany shit like that that suddenly becomes culturally significant, that's why I'm here.

I feel we lost that thread for a while, or maybe all the city's other issues masked it.
As I understand it many of the costumes are getting donated after delivery, so at least some kind of barrier between order-er and protestor.

That said, Lippman's has 'em and has been doing a brisk business, it appears.
24 years later the MC Paul B randomly shows up in my head.
Was I to rap, as France was to Morocco?

Was I : rap :: France : Morocco ?
Have I made a mockery of a culture like the
I said consummate V's! CONSUMMATE!
Seriously, whoever the next Dem Presidential nominee ends up being, they need to hire Zohran's social media team
Dial up ending and a government shutting down... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
(solemnly) You've had mail.
Ok lmao, lol (with respect to those who used to work there) but the Spirit Halloween occupying the very recently vacated Joann Fabric space in Tigard is peak internet meme come to life.

Like I literally did a double take to make sure it wasn't CGI, and this was AS I WAS DRIVING PAST
Was in downtown-ish PDX today and it's so fucking nice outside! What a truly terrible awful place
Reading the headline: Nelson's first "Ha"

Seeing who the author is: Nelson's second "Ha"
Jesus H Christ can RFK Jr just get a neck transplant or something, listening to that guy is the absolute worst
"Macrohard" as "Macro-heard"

The cadence of the voice is also bad. Much like a second grader, it'll use an end-of-sentence vocal inflection. Then keep going through the end of the sentence but it sounds like. A new one started.
YOU* cheap hacks. At least my mistakes are organic and realized.
What's cool (awful actually) about the audio version of this article is that the AI voice consistently mixes up the pronunciation of "xAI". Sometimes it's "ex-ehh-eye", sometimes it's "z-ay".

Just hire a real fucking person cheap hacks.
Elon Musk had a 1.5 hour meeting at xAI yesterday where he talked about building a competitor to Microsoft called "Macrohard," creating "Baby Grok" for kids 2-12, and using AI to quintuple X's revenue to $10B. We listened in.

After leaving Trump, he's all in on AI.

Me too! It'll probably take a few days for the local pharmacies to catch on (as of a few minutes ago, the Walgreen's site still indicates a prescription is required for the Covid shot), but glad as well to live in OR right now.
Stayed up too late watching pizza dough videos again
I love this time of year because you can do tons of shit outside but there's this "hurry hurry!!" feeling as the light slants and the clouds roll in.

6 hours of cleaning out the garage, yard work (aka Useful Crossfit), errands. Exhausted and in pain but that vape and hot tub gonna things OK

I honestly think it's mostly just being born between 1970 and 2000. Didn't have it as a toddler but got in early enough that parsing internet bullshit quickly became second nature. I think people born outside this window are at a disadvantage in different directions with this shit
What's your secret to being online all the time without contracting computer madness? For me it's being pure of heart
There can be only one (more set of squats)

Here are some things that Charlie Kirk said in his life.

The man is dead, and so it only seems fair to share his legacy by cataloguing the values he spread while alive.
