Guess who just accidentally sent out the wrong captions for his short film because the company who made them decided to put the "download the AI slop summary of the work you just did" button right next to the "download the work you literally just paid a human to do for you" button 🫠

Man the English language really nailed it with the name "woodpecker."

Fun name, rolls off the tongue nice, and like... yep. Woodpecker. That's what it does.
My entry for #WoodpeckerWednesday is this Pileated Woodpecker in my yard a few years ago in #Tacoma. #Birds #Nature #Photography

This is also true.

My job as a critic requires factoring the influence of MAGA into my analysis of pop culture, but my job as an entertainer requires presenting those findings in a way that's not horribly depressing and unpleasant to watch.
As much as that is true, I also think overemphasizing it just makes the analysis impossible to enjoy. I'm not watching a pop music analysis to hear about the latest in Donald Grump news. I'm here to hear about why Jessie Murph and Morgan Wallen suck.

Alcohol is legal. It can kill you and others if you drive under it's influences.

Simultaneously, driving is considered mandatory to function in American society, and 95% of bars have no convenient way to get your car home once you get drunk there.
"HRT shouldn't be easily available because it can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing."

Go into Walmart and go down every aisle and take note of how many easily available things could fuck you up if you don't know what you're doing. I guarantee you it's a lot.

My take: It is literally not possible to analyze US pop culture in 2025 without factoring in politics.

Trump's shadow is cast over 100% of the Internet, and the Internet IS American pop culture.

Any lense used to broadly study 2020s US culture that doesn't factor in MAGA is simply not accurate.
Its funny going into the comments and saying people complain that you're a person who mentions politics every once in a while in your videos, like they arent important to consuming culture nowadays.

The draft dodging idiot posted a pic of this West Point plaque. It contains these words:

“Our American Code of Military Obedience requires that, should orders and the law ever conflict, our officers must obey the law.”

That is precisely what Senator Mark Kelly told officers to do. #NoSedition

I don't understand how "There She Goes" by The La's isn't the single most quintessential TikTok song that exists by this point.

Like I know it's seen some success there, but nah man, that song should be the next "Dreams" or "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes," it should DEFINE that app.

Just brought to my attention:

I made a comment on Todd's Ophelia video where I mentioned that it's unethical that Taylor Swift is a billionaire, someone screencapped it and posted it to Todd's Reddit expecting everyone to dump on me, and instead they ratioed him into the ground lmao
From the ToddintheShadow community on Reddit: So I recently bumped into Sean Fay-Wolfe of Diamond Axe Studios on Todd’s Fate Of Ophelia video. And we had this exchange.

I really hate when I have my worst list locked in for weeks, and then I have to re-write at the last minute it because a new song dropped that has absolutely no excuse not being on it.

I mean, today's children were denied more than a year of human interaction during their most crucial stages of development during the lockdown, and then released into a world of algorithmic segregation, ruled by evil manchildren who prove that shitting on others gets you what you want.

So... yeah.
America’s children seem to be struggling. But the broad national conversation around children’s mental health seems to ignore the environment where children spend most of their waking hours: school, writes Jia Lynn Yang. nyti.ms/49IQpbz

Antisemitism is a lot like Qanon child abuse conspiracies in that there’s this real and bad phenomenon and, parallel to that, what can only be described as a large scale mass psychosis about a mostly fictional version of the same phenomenon

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this Jaiden Animations video is one of the most concise, understandable, and DEEPLY effective condemnations that any human being has ever made of the society that they live in.
Y'all mind if I complain for 15 minutes?

It's remarkable how in our timeline, the disgraced former biggest rapper alive can say in an interview "I never did any urine fetish play with a friend of the alleged sexual predator who made Blurred Lines," and my response is "not now, Drake, there's actual important shit going on."

Question: “how could he run on releasing the Epstein files and not do it?”

Answer: because he’s lied his whole life without consequences. Why would he think this situation would be any different?

This is unbelievable. I got suspended by bluesky just for quoting the lyrics of the Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and changing “hold your hand” to “stab you with a big knife”

One of the single most random pieces of music trivia I know is that the woman saying "give it to me baby" on The Offspring's "Pretty Fly for a White Guy" is the voice actress of Asajj Ventress from The Clone Wars.

When a Pokémon hurts itself in confusion, it's probably because it remembers that there exists a duet between Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth with a chorus that goes "let's Marvin Gaye and get it on" and contains the line "it's a Kama Sutra show and tell."

In 2021, I sung a stupid parody of Astronaut in the Ocean as a gag for a video. I released it digitally to raise some money for charity.

My song hit #2 on the US Digital Sales Chart for comedy songs. For a few days.

I probably had about 10k YT subs at the time.

Digital sales charts mean NOTHING.
So many don't know that said digital sales song charts are routinely mocked within the music industry as being easy as hell to rig by labels / companies, who buy up the song all at once (often in bulk) to get to that #1...

If only for an hour or two. It's not about the sales, it's the headline.

I've been seeing this headline floating around. To be clear:

1) This is "No. 1" on a miniscule chart, The "Country Digital Song Sales" chart, as in people actually paying money to download country songs which is a tiny amount of people

2) The actual consumers are almost certainly fake
