i'm less surprised, in that the worst music criticism in the world seem to come from very legitimate (non-musical) publications

I had no idea that song was only from the '80s!!

"We got dust on our Bibles, brand new iPhones, no wonder why we feel this way" bro there's a bible app on my phone, sorry for knowing how technology works

yeah christian song titles tend to not be designed for stealth

I don't remember I've already forgotten it. Imagine what a Christian song sounds like and you've pretty much got it

Who is the Christian Noah Kahan
shadowtodd.bsky.social
I said Christian songs, that's not really a Christian song

I regret to inform you that a third Christian song has reached the Hot 100, and it's the worst of them all, by being the least interesting

thank you all, that was helpful, but not helpful in helping me understand the Taylor song at all

Is "eldest daughter" a personality type I'm supposed to know, like "middle child" or "gifted kid"? I've never heard of it

When I was in high school I waited in a Sam's Club for a few hours to get an album signed by Big & Rich so you can guess who I'm rooting for.

To give an idea of the time period, while waiting by the book section I read a book by Bill Engvall of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour.

New pod! @acollierastro.bsky.social wanted to do an episode about '90s country but unfortunately I made her do this instead. (I had fun at least!) We argue over the two early indicators of bro-country, "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" by Kenny Chesney vs. "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy) by Big & Rich
156: "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" vs. "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" (with Angela Collier!)

Matthew Sweet's "Girlfriend," although that's cheating a little bit since it's also partially an "I've gotten a divorce" album

It's a given in the music industry that "I've fallen in love!" albums are usually regrettable, and "I've gotten a divorce!" ones often have some of the artist's best work. So question for the group, what are the best "I've fallen in love!" albums?

I don't think so, that's just what happened in the early '80s. I don't think you could say the '90s country boom was anything similar. Maybe the current one though.

I have more of a country background but I don't think I would have been surprised, there's literally nothing more Reagan-era than this
