When I was in high school I waited in a Sam's Club for a few hours to get an album signed by Big & Rich so you can guess who I'm rooting for.

To give an idea of the time period, while waiting by the book section I read a book by Bill Engvall of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour.

I don't think so, that's just what happened in the early '80s. I don't think you could say the '90s country boom was anything similar. Maybe the current one though.
