Eventually, I want to apply similar/modified methods to identify microstructural expressions of bone strength that could be used to better predict fracture risk. I hope to continue my work after graduation in May of 2025 and pursue more prospects of interdisciplinary research as well.

During my time at OSU I have been lucky to conduct research in biomedical engineering, skeletal biology, anthropology, forensics, and injury biomechanics. Not only has this led me to believe the importance of team science but it exemplifies how research

Experiencing two 500 year flood events in the span of only 11 years shaped my life to understand and restore degraded river systems. Especially in rural communities where people impacted by both floods and droughts have historically been left undeserved by those in positions of power.

I am gay and I am a conservationist.//

I was born and raised in Vernonia, Oregon. Having grown up on a farm next to Rock Creek, the source of drinking water for my hometown, I came to appreciate the resource of water which we cannot live without.

Only by bringing our whole selves to work can we truly thrive.
'Chemistry is Personal' charts my journey as a chemist, the way some of our chemistry intersects with personal experiences, and LGBT+ representation in STEM.
This seminar is in Sheffield but also online.

One thing common between my field of work and belonging to the queer community is the blurring of the margins of the so called well-defined labels, such as of who you are and who you are supposed to love.

Therefore, the intertwining worlds of medicine, basic sciences and basic subjects of the medical curriculum intrigue me. Hence the nature of my work and a deep interest in molecular imaging. Molecular imaging involves the understanding of physiology, biochemistry,

Our erasure from places of power, particularly in STEM, is a modern political issue, forced by western systems.

We are here, we have been here, and we will be here in the future

Earth systems, waterways, and all sorts of scientific phenomenon occur outside of binary functions,
where observed activity is often located somewhere on a spectrum between endmembers. Additionally, ancient cultures have championed gender diverse folks for millennia.
