I've finished cleaning up the jam box. Installed modern speakers, sprayed down the pots and switches with contact cleaner and fader lube. Because it's going to live in the garage, I packed the battery compartment with desiccant packets.

I think it just comes with practice. The transition from padding to sitting came pretty quickly, it was pop ups I needed to practice.
