I live in St George, UT. I read and write poetry (often poorly—you’re welcome). I maintain a blog at ourprocess.wordpress.com.
I don’t know how many words I’ve written for NaNoWriMo but I’m sure it’s over 80,000 words which is perfect because I don’t want my novel to be more than 85,000 words long. I wanted to do some line edits because I’m beginning the finale, but you know, family drama. #WritingCommunity #IAmWriting.

So how do you do NaNoWriMo during Thanksgiving? There are two routes one already have more than 70,000 words written and skip the day or two wake up super early in the morning and keep typing like I did. I went back in and added a missing scene after act two‘s opening #WritingCommunity #AmWriting.

I didn’t write that much for NaNoWriMo today. It’s OK, I’m close to 70k words. I spent some time working on a bit of structural editing and fine-tuning my characters, focusing on flaws and characteristics that some folks might confuse with flaws like emotional injuries. #WritingCommunity #AmWriting.

I’m working on character flaws. Here are things that are not character flaws, but realities that novel plots cannot redeem: PTSD, height, phobias, being left-handed, or simply being a woman or man. Characters need overcomable faults. Not unchangeable characteristics. #WritingCommunity #AmWriting.

I couldn’t sleep. I woke up at 3:30. I started writing. I wrote back stories & world building details that I’ll need during edits. It’s good to know which planet you’re on and why people named their planet. Not like the stupid name we gave the Earth. It just means dirt. #WritingCommunity #AmWriting.

My adventure for the day is to write 2000 words for my NaNoWriMo project and then start editing my third poetry chapbook that will be available at the beginning of December. This next poetry chapbook is Christmas themed and is a sample of Southern Gothic poetry and flash. #WritingCommunity#AmWriting

My outlining project is working great. After writing 62K words on my novel without any type of outline or guidance it’s good to kinda sit down and figure stuff out. I like seeing where I am as the novel progresses. I think my antagonist/villain is going to be Han Solo. #WritingCommunity #AmWriting.

Ray Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451 on a $.10 per 30 minutes typewriter in a library basement and spent a total of $9.80 to write one of the greatest books in the world.

In my NaNoWriMo project, I have a good idea where my book will conclude. The first half is written completely and then I have other parts written for the rest of the book, but I decided to spend time outlining today to make sure I get the last 30% of the book right. #WritingCommunity #AmWriting

Like many in my family I finally got sick, but I still wrote. I am at 57K words for my NaNoWriMo project and I’m starting to look at developmental editing. I can’t afford to hire anyone, but I know the process. I would’ve done it anyway, even if I didn’t know the name #WritingCommunity #AmWriting.
