ICE has been caught looting and destroying property at Pittsburgh restaurants. They even tried to break into the safes. They loaded food, supplies and equipment into vehicles

I’m finding it very hard to get through a single day here without an existential crisis - how are people just carrying on amid the fascism and the violence? How do we show up for work as usual as if academia isn’t dead? What does any of it matter when the world is literally burning?

Just finished “The Invisible Bridge” about Hungarian Jews during WWII. The parallels to today are chilling, except instead of disappearing Jews in boarded-up train cars, it’s Latinxs in airplanes.
