Really enjoying the gameplay loop of Tiny Bookshop so far. There’s enough mechanics to make it feel like there’s actual strategy, but not too much to be overwhelming.

It’s also very fun to go to an IRL bookshop after playing and see books you just recommended to the NPCs

Good point! Thumbnails aren’t a magic bullet but they’re certainly important

I’ve avoided putting my face prominently in cover thumbnails because I’ve never been sure if my face is recognizable enough to draw clicks. Usually my go-to look is based on what Smooth McGroove did like 15 years ago tho

some frankly amazing AI slop that someone decided to try and post on the r/dataisbeautiful subreddit

an AI slop map of the united states that seems to be trying to indicate what the most popular food is in every state. it contains such gems as Alaska's favorite food being a reddish slab labeled "ALASKA", Oregon's favorite food being what looks like a steak sitting on top of a cereal bowl labeled "APPLE", California's being simultaneously a goblet full of red liquid labeled "SHRIMP COCKTAIL" and a beige slab labeled "TATO", Wyoming's being a crudely drawn bison labeled "WYMONG" and an oblong apple on Alabama labeled "CRANFISH". There is also a square to the right of Florida that just says "SALMON" for no reason.

Googled an FDR quote to find its source. The AI tells me the quote is actually a myth, FDR never said it, and to research my sources critically.

The reason AI said this was because the same quote was cited in an article that had the word "myth" in the title.

The quote's 100% real, btw.
