To date I’ve covered 33 wards across 7 different boroughs

I compile reports & submit them to Cllrs for them to take up with their highways team

The reports mainly focus on missing/not suitable dropped kerbs as these impact how wheelchair users (& others!) get around their neighbourhood
🎉🎉SUCCESS🎉🎉

Dropped kerbs have now been installed on either side of this entrance way, this now enables people who use a wheelchair to cross 🙌

“These new powers do not go far enough to protect pedestrians. It’s disappointing not to see a nationwide prohibition.”

Our @charitycat.bsky.social responds to the news that local authorities will receive legal powers to restrict pavement parking. https://www.livingstreets.org.uk/pavement-parking

Beyond disappointed that the government has gone against what the majority of respondents supported in the consultation

With subjective wording and leaving enforcement up to local authorities will not solve the problem

It's a pity some of this doesn't rub off on the folks in #TfL who manage Outer London roads because we have missing dropped kerbs and tactile paving, overgrown vegetation and missing green men on TfL's junctions.
Creating a truly inclusive transport network is an essential part of my Transport Strategy.

This new fault-reporting technology is an important step forward, giving customers who rely on step-free access up-to-date information so they can plan their journeys with confidence.

Frustrating to have to listen to this, but the pressure has to be kept on.

We need a national ban and then let council's proposed places where they wish to provide footway parking through the democratic process, including assessing the equality impacts.

Would have preferred yellow over grey for the tactile paving though!

Even today, across our neighbourhoods there are instances where dropped kerbs are missing/not suitable. This impacts on how people who use a wheelchair (and others) get around their local community.
