Extremely funny to quote post my alt here but I feel like this is also an issue in the way that a lot of music production "tutorials" are taught that holds back creative expression

I do not disagree that recreating songs or retracing techniques can be helpful but not teaching why results in clones

I think that this teaching format often stays surface-level and does not actually develop learning and understanding the mechanics of skills in a conscious & consistent enough way to build intuitive knowledge, e.g. "sight reading" vs phonics

I don't want to just copy recipes; I want to make food 🥘

Etymotics is less comfortable than Eargasm & Earaser but has much better performance, imo (some of the best in the game until you get to ACS Pro UK tier stuff)

If you're willing to sacrifice a little bit of that performance though, I highly recommend trying Eargasm or Earaser if you have time

I tune into Vision Radio (fka Noisia Radio) every once in a while to catch up on neuro dnb stuff but admittedly I have not explored much outside of NTS
