I haven't posted much about politics recently because I figure I can do more in my admin role than not. Even though my kidneys are trash, and my heart has already failed I still fully do my job every single day. At this point, forget broke-- I can't do anything if I am dead.

So I had to pay for a month's supply today, so it would have time to get to me without another lapse in treatment. The cash price was $18,100.

After a full month, we can't settle the dispute. They told me it may take 30 days to come to a decision, and I only have 6 pills left. The last time I took a necessary gap in treatment, two brain tumors popped up that I am still dealing with.

Aetna is refusing to pay for my Lazcluze immunotherapy treatment. I have been on the medicine for a year. They want me to try another medicine even though this one is working, and two others I've already tried had serious adverse effects. Trying another medicine could seriously disable me or worse.

After a full day of working, swimming, and running around, I'm sitting here doing some volunteer work for @go2forlungcancer.bsky.social right now, and I miss her profoundly because she helped give me this day.

She told me the best place for a person with lung cancer to be was in the Bay Area due to the numerous treatment options, so we moved. She was that impactful to me and so many others. She lived for 21 years with advanced lung cancer-- all the while, prolonging and saving countless lives.
