Canada keeps getting budgets shaped by governments that win less than half the vote. When whole regions are shut out, national priorities get skewed.

Proportional representation means every region and every voter would help drive the budget, not only areas with a government MP.

If @morricemike.bsky.social had gotten his seat, the Green Party would be in such a great position to negotiate right now 🥲
@elizabethemay.bsky.social is doing a great job nonetheless

Or dangerously passing
As a driver, I would like more automated speed enforcement so I can drive the speed limit and not have some asshole in a Ram pickup tailgating to get me to speed up or get out of their way

Planning a trip to Montreal this month... It's so sad that choosing a train is almost 4 times more expensive (for 2 people), compared to driving (including parking) 😭

I wrote a blog post 😃
Grand River Rocks Kitchener upgraded their bike parking to a new 30-space inverted-U rack, making it easier and safer for people to cycle to their facility. This is a great example of how businesses can support cyclists and build a stronger community. cyclewr.ca/2025/07/08/g...

On my recent trip to Scandinavia I tried to use everything but a car. I got to be on intercity trains, metros, buses, trams, ferries, a bike, an e-bike and a kayak. I also walked many tens of kilometers. I had to take one cab to the airport, because transit didn't run at 4am 🥲 But it was electric.

The amount of bike lanes (and cyclists) I'm finding in Malmo and Stockholm is astonishing.
Don't tell me these aren't winter cities.

Ages 0-4 are the most important, emotionally & intellectually, in human development.

Yet, in the US, we have a very high rate of childhood poverty and a broken child care system.

Congratulations to New Mexico for leading the way forward for high quality, free child care. Other states must follow.

How are we going to build, baby, build? @mark-carney.bsky.social
Everybody wants to talk about too many "windowless shoebox condos” but nobody wants to talk about zoning/building code reform to actually allow for other options
11 single stair conditions for 208 apartments

every unit faces southeast or southwest

over half have daylight on opposite sides or more.

studios to 4-bedrooms

and 100% illegal in every part of the US.
