Double-got-backs!

Sounds about right. And the tech level required for FTL travel leads to irreversible climate change and environment collapse, so they wipe themselves out before they get anywhere.

But I might miss out on randos being mean to me!

They are pretty good actually!

I know, I’ve created some kind of recursion which is clearly overheating a few brain cells. I recommend getting off the internet.

Oh wait-!
Hate to break it to you but you are not off the internet if you are posting this 🤔😒
Things I recommend a very great deal:

1. These eel-flavoured potato chips.

2. Getting off the internet. I've done without it for 3 days and it has been glorious. I'm starting to think the internet was a BIG mistake.

はい!
January 11, 2026 at 4:35 PM
Yeah I think I might. I need to finish this book! I had a month offline a few years ago and it was real good.
January 11, 2026 at 4:34 PM
Wow you got me. Got me GOOD.
January 11, 2026 at 4:33 PM
I did! It’s a paradox! I understand if you need to sit down for a moment.
January 11, 2026 at 4:33 PM
Yes I’m pretty sure I am. I mean, just look at my bio, so much New York Times bestselling AI going on there.
January 11, 2026 at 4:32 PM
I said I was off for 3 days. It was great. Now I’m back. Breaks are good!

Nope. I love unagi and ate as much as possible in Japan. I was at an Asian supermarket yesterday and couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this packet.

CHECKMATE.
But without the Internet, how would I know about these chips??🤔😄
January 11, 2026 at 4:27 PM
As I expected, people are angry in my notifications.

Meanwhile I’ve just had some amazing home-made なっとう.

I've seen "reviewers" collecting all 4 ARC variants of a single novel, because the publisher put out 4 different "limited" editions (I mean all ARCs are limited by their nature). So yeah, unless they are reading all 4 copies one after another, it's all part of the problem.

Publishers have made ARCs collectables, so it's just inevitable. Something about a snake eating its own tail...

I don't know what the Sherlock thing is, mostly because I can't get my brain around the fact that people wanted more of that show.
January 7, 2026 at 3:41 PM
Someone at archery last night ASKED what I thought.

I'm a writer, honest.
January 7, 2026 at 3:39 PM
Me too. On further investigation, I cannot believe people were wanting another Sherlock episode. Surely not.

I'm mostly offline writing a book and come back and this is what's going on?

Also someone at archery last night what I thought of Stranger Things S5 and I said I hadn't watched it and he kinda stood there and stared at me, like he needed to be rebooted or something. He knows I wrote an ST novel.
one of the strangest fandom culture moments is going down right now; a section of the Stranger Things fanbase have convinced themselves that the last episode wasn't the *real* finale, & that there are cryptic clues hidden in the background of the series hinting at a secret *real* finale to air today

Write the book you would like to see someone pull from a higgledy piggledy pile in a secondhand shop 63 years after your death and say, "This looks fucking weird. I think I will buy it for Joan."

Next book of 2026 read is GUILLOTINE by @delilahsdawson.bsky.social, who continues to be my favourite author! Sorry every other author I follow ☠️☠️☠️
