I was there. IIRC, One of Inspiral Carpets behind me in the queue didn't get in because they closed the doors just as he got to the front.
Spent the afternoon and early evening eating/drinking/looking at things in Saltaire/Shipley borders. As many Japanese tourists and achingly trendy young couples per square yard as E11/E17. Extraordinary.
Yes. I love a non-twiddly guitar solo. Will Sergeant's slashing on E&TB's Broke My Neck springs to mind, in a kind of similar vein.
I went through a stage of feeling its literary references might be a little too self-conscious but came to realize that it was me not LC that was gauche and that cleverness in music should be celebrated rather than hidden. And the tunes are undeniable.
If push came to shove, probably the album that means more to me than any other. Certainly the one I've listened to the most.
I liked the idiosyncratic beer selection and the student bedroom atmosphere. Sounds like the aroma is more Lynx Africa than patchouli incense now.
What a shame. It did have a unique vibe - one that I'll miss if it's no longer there.
(Forgive me for butting in.) I've not been in since it changed hands. Judging from their insta it seems to be thriving but there appears to be a dodgy turn on almost every night.

All the best. I'm a deeply pessimistic person and dread big life changes like this but, in my experience, when they occur, it always seems to work out for the best.
Bureau Of Lost Culture (if you pick and choose the episodes.)
Just about coping. Greece is the word.
Yes. You too. We'll have to get together for a drink some time.
I like that. Trust your swing.
Ah, I see. "A win's a win and, at the end of the day, it's results that matter, Clive."
This is my favourite type of Wordle solution. Much prefer a gradual hunting down of the right answer to an early lucky guess.
Oof. That would be a deeply unwelcome development.
Mad/revolting hair a useful indicator of an out-of-control ego - Trump/Johnson/Milei etc. "Check me out. I won't conform to your hair rules."
