I’ve been on a train and now I’m on a bus. You couldn’t make this up.

The trusty Mondeo being support vehicle for a very different red K-reg car.

Pretty much identical to the car I learned to drive in. Can’t remember the last time I saw one.

It’s been ages since I took an appropriate car to a show so it was good to take my very unexceptional base Mondeo to FOTU.

The thrill of gambling.

First proper road trip under its belt. Used it as a van to take a stand a mags to the Jim Clark event in Duns. Not bad for a car that stood for six years until January, and which has averages below 2000 miles per year over its lifetime.

Of course I meant 1965. Typo!
Three of the four single-seaters Jim Clark drove in 1968, the year he won the F1 World Championship, the Indy 500 and the Tasman Series. It’s a record that will never be beaten. The backdrop is Duns Castle.

That’ll polish out.

I’ve covered 1000 miles in the Mondeo now. To mark the milestone I’m going to clean off the algae (in this heat). A polish might have to wait until the weather cools down.

Little clip from Saturday’s Classic Team Lotus Garden Party. They’d assembled the biggest ever collection of ex-Jim Clark cars, including this Type 49. Volume up!

Nick Clegg's new book is £25, but I'm sure he's okay with us stealing it.

Shooting an GS Europa today, an opportunity arose for a size comparison. I assure you the Europa is 1:1 scale.

Been saying this about the word "absolute" for years.

There's a magazine called Absolute Lotus and it always makes me smirk when I see it on the newsstand.
If you want to insult someone in England you can just put words like “utter,” “total,” or “Grade A” before pretty much any inanimate object. Here are ten to get you started…

10. Parcel
9. Walnut
8. Flannel
7. Donut
6. Rocket
5. Helmet
4. Pancake
3. Hoop
2. Plum
1. Wet wipe

Meta have stolen the work of 1000s of writers to train their AI. All of my books were included in their illegal action.

Today UK authors are protesting against this theft.

Little outing in my unexceptional Mondeo took me past Grimsthorpe Castle, venue for FOTU. Seemed apt to stop for a pic.

For many years I’ve said I’ll one day own a Suzuki Whizzkid. I’ll probably continue to say that for many more years, but this one looks wonderful.
