Reportably, WB put it in production for as early as late 2000s after they saw the success of the live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks movies, only to languish for over a decade, intended to be live-action hybrid with photorealistic CG, then fully animated, then live-action hybrid with cel-shaded CG.

Okay, again, what part of "You can't do what a cartoon did in real life" do these people not understand? You do not have the strength of Huntr/x. Just accept it. Wait for the ramen to cool a bit, man. youtu.be/Z_4NE3mJAHw?...

Spyder-Cat crossed onto the rainbow bridge today. Thank you Spyder-Cat for letting me be your human mom and loving me. I loved this cat so much. Two years ago, I was at my darkest in my mental health. She is what saved me.🤍

Pac Man kind of brought video games into the mainstream. Sort of the Mario of its day.

It was the first one that was a big deal in general.

And how a Smile 3 would unfold as 75-80% of Smile 2 was hallucinations on top of hallucinations on top on hallucinations?

Focus on a new Smile Entity chain? I know that the inmate from the first movie mentioned one already discovered beforehand, thus hinting at more chains.

I do not understand what critics and audiences see in these films. The fact we will be getting a Smile horror trilogy is a travesty

Welp. One down. Needless to say, I wasn’t pleased lol. On to Smile 2

Okay, Tron Legacy didn't impressed us, and the reception is similar for Tron Ares. Maybe animation is the best place to move the franchise forward alongside video games.

-Radical Entertainment (The Simpsons: Hit and Run, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, Prototype series)
-Vicarious Visions (the Crash Bandicoot trilogy remake and the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 remake) before being moved to Blizzard

And that's not to mention the studios that got closed or folded:

-Bizzare Creations (Project Gotham Racing series, Geometry Wars series, 007 Blood Stone)
-Neversoft (Spider-Man 2000, Gun, Guitar Hero 3-5, the original Tony Hawk games)

I mean, every studio from the Activision side of Activision Blizzard used to make great games before being pushed to the COD machine:

High Moon Studios with the Transformers: War for Cybertron games and the 2013 Deadpool game

And Microsoft is paying the price for aiming to shift from consoles to subscriptions, and they're on the verge of pulling a Sega, likely to leave the console market.

If what Microsoft said about said about staying in the console buisness was true and not just PR speak, then how will be handled as first-party games are now on competing consoles and retailers have stopped selling hardware or utterly dropped prices?

Animation could prove to be same as I know people love the Tron Uprising animated series. Besides that, I know that people also love the Tron Lightcycle Power Run attraction at Disneyland Shanghai and Walt Disney World.

So to boot, the movies are an anchor on the franchise's neck.

In the imminent case of Tron Ares flopping, should this franchise just dwell in video games, animation, theme park attractions, and crossover projects?
