The only remastering that’s ever been good is the Star Trek remasters, but the process is so expensive and time-consuming that it would never be profitable under today’s streaming models.
HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

New curry place by the kid’s School of Rock is surprisingly good.

As a centrist, I think Donald Trump is bad, but the political and economic conditions that enabled him to become president twice are good

Pretty wild that Nicholas Meyers's follow-up to Star Trek II was The Day After.

Scored some tickets to next year’s @alyankovic.bsky.social tour. I’ll be the one guy holding up a sign demanding “Frank’s 2000” TV”

Don't know if I feel better or worse that the vast majority of people paid to write are absolute dogshit at it.

Just repeatedly playing through the first hour of Baldur's Gate because I mostly just love creating characters.

Yesterday's Star Trek Adventures session produced our favorite band name yet: The Beefy Security Lads

These Disney live action remakes remind me of what happens most of the time a creator asks if people would like thing X: everyone likes the post and then nobody buys thing X when the creator comes out with it.

My doctor's office has switched over everything to digital, but the phone code verification process never works, so I end up having to call and have them mail me test results and whatnot. The future!

Really stretching the definition of “breaking” here.
Breaking News: House Democrats released emails in which Jeffrey Epstein alleged that Donald Trump knew of the convicted sex offender's conduct and “spent hours at my house” with a victim.
Epstein Alleged in Emails That Trump Knew of His Conduct
In a message obtained by Congress, the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein wrote that Donald J. Trump spent hours at his house with one of Mr. Epstein’s victims.

Watching Deborah Ann Woll run D&D and instantly recognize the utterly delighted look on her face as the players interact with the set pieces and props she creates. My favorite part of running RPGs.

Had a rare session where the kid came in to talk bass with me and she was completely disgusted that bass doesn’t have chords. 🤣

We watched just a portion of the new Frankenstein last night, and it's interesting to note the changes to the book. William is older, so when (I assume, I haven't gotten to it yet) he meets his fate the monster won't be a child murderer, a move to make him more sympathetic I assume.

A couple weeks ago I was at a middle school career day and upon describing my job a girl asked if it was like AI. I laughed and said I was much better than AI and her eyes widened and she started taking notes like I’d just shown her the Dead Sea scrolls.
I spotted this on Mastodon and I find it horrible, not least for the speed with which this has happened.
