Then it is quite similar since I was shooting with a reducer at f/6.3, but due to the much longer focal length the comet fills a lot of the field of view. I will definitely try without filter next time

Thank you, that is good to know, and I will try it without L-Pro filter next time. I just use it every time to reduce the light pollution...

Right, it is quite astonishing that the final proof of that theory came only a few years ago

Thank you! To my knowledge the greenish colour comes from dicarbon molecules (C2) that are released when a comet comes closer to the sun. It is not very stable which is the reason why only the coma of a comet is green and not the tail, too

That is definitely possible, the comet is bright enough. I took my second image with a Nikon D5600 (ISO1600) and a quite normal lens (f/2.8) together with a non-electric tracker (Omegon MiniTrack LX3) that allowed 10s-subs

Thank you, and clear skies for you very soon!

Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) in the early hours of 3 October, captured through the C8 with an ASI294mc and additionally with a Nikon D5600 and a Tamron 70-200 at a focal length of 130 mm. The #comet was also nice to observe visually and will hopefully brighten significantly. #astrophotography

Den Nebel kannte ich bisher noch nicht, ein tolles Objekt - und ein großartiges Foto!👏🏻

LBN 437 The Gecko Nebula captured from my dark site in southern France last month 🇫🇷 😊🔭

It was shot on the EdgeHD 8 with Hyperstar for a total integration time of 8 hours in OSC and Mono. The red nebulosity was enhanced with Ha data.

@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social‬ what do you see?
The Gecko Nebula LBN 437 is a dark nebula embedded in the red emission nebula SH2-126. It lies at a distance of about 1.200 light years from Earth in the constellation of Lacerta. Its shape resembles a Gecko hence the name 🦎

Thank you, Bernd. This was one of my first "more seriously" imaged objects a few years ago, and I haven't been too happy with the result back then. So I definitely had to image it again 😅

Thank you, Phillip! The camera is a lot of fun, imaging really got a bit easier with it.😊

The Snowglobe Nebula (NGC6781) is a beautiful and rather bright planetary nebula in the constellation Aquila. It is also visually a nice object. In August, I photographed it with an ASI294mc Pro through my C8 with a total exposure time of 5 hours. #astrophotography

Same here... When I finally spotted the moon, it was already much higher above the horizon than I expected. First widefield images at f/5 and ISO1600 with 4 s... 🤣

Great image! I hab no time to prepare the C8, but it is always worth it 👏🏻

Thank you, Bernd! And enjoy your stay in the South 😎

Oh, what a pity. But not a bad picture 😅

Thank you, Julien! That really was a lucky shot 😄
