When I heard news of the latest so-called ceasefire, I watched celebrations with a pit in my stomach. How could Israel be trusted for a second? Of course, I'm not judging Palestinians. Even while knowing Israel better than anyone, any human in their situation would welcome a minute to breathe.

The Sumud flotilla may not have succeeded in breaking the siege but it did succeed in bringing hope to decent people everywhere, and most importantly, people in Gaza who were reminded that many people not only care but are willing to sacrifice their lives to help end the cruelty and injustice.
