The Beady Long Legs has a heavy resemblance to the Scuttlebug from Super Mario 64 specifically. They are both spider-like creatures with a round orb for a body, 4 long spindly legs with large foot-pads, and a messy red/yellow color scheme.
It’s unknown if this was intentional or just a coincidence.
