I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

NSF's Undergraduate Research Coordination Networks in Undergraduate Biology program has been abruptly archived. The deadline was tomorrow. People were submitting proposals.

This program is designed to support the American scientific workforce. I cannot see the point of this level of self-sabotage.

NSF spokesman Michael England did not answer questions about which review panels were canceled or when they could be restarted.

i am a MA student in princeton's geosciences department.

i study u-th dating of ostrich eggshells across archaeological sites in africa & the middle east. my previous undergrad experience is in ar/ar dating and geochemistry work of volcanic tephras tied to an arch site in ethiopia!
