It really is! Those were such hopeful times — it felt like anything was possible, like the world might finally come together!
I was in Berlin recently and visited the Checkpoint Charlie museum. It was such a powerful reminder of how fragile freedom is, and how easily we take it for granted.

Today 35 years ago West and East Germany were reunited.

And today, of all days, I revised a song for one of my closest friends - she grew up in East Berlin, I in West Berlin. We would never have met if it hadn’t been for the reunification.

Talk about perfect timing!

This one is light and gentle and incredibly pretty. Because of the emotional state I was in, it also hit me like a speeding truck.

I have a new morning routine. After doing my vocal exercises, I play one to three songs from my catalogue before going to work.

It’s amazing what this does to the soul. The world starts looking a little brighter - talk about endorphins that are released when making music!
