The Constitution has failed because it no longer limits power — it legitimizes it. The laws written to stop tyranny now protect and enable it.

One thing people seem to forget is that these Judges live in the community, the court house is in the community. If the community was a crime riddled hellscape, they would see it first hand. This Judge is in Chicago, the Trump appointed Judge in Portland was in Portland. They can see through the 💩

Sounds like Judge Perry didn't come to play

Perry received a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in 2000 from Northwestern University and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 2003 from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.

After roughly 90 minutes, Perry is done questioning Hamilton.

Perry: "I guess my question for you is, if that's the way of the world now, if that's the way people seem to be responding to the general state of affairs, is there any limit on 12406?"

Hamilton says yes, the statute "sets the times in which it applies."

Perry: "I agree with you about the seriousness of threats, generally, across the United States right now. I don't think there's a single public servant, really, who is not being subject to threats.

"Mine started about 10 minutes after I got this case."

Perry:"What troubles me about that reading of the statute is, if the executive branch chose to deploy one ICE agent to the Chicagoland area, and then that person was unable to solve all crime," then that could trigger the National Guard.

Hamilton says that's a "very different situation."

Perry: "You seem to believe that 12406(3) would be triggered any time that a singular agency would be asked for help from a brother or sister agency."

Hamilton: "I don't think we're asking the court to go that far."

Perry asks, "are those people part of the regular forces?"

Hamilton: "I think probably not."

Perry quotes from a filing that says, on 9/29, the AG "directed ATF, Marshals, DEA and FBI to direct all necessary officers and agents to defend ICE facilities and personnel."

Perry notes "we haven't talked about the words 'regular forces,'" which appear in the law. She pushes for a definition.

Hamilton: "I think it's a reference to the status quo."

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has taken a seat in the courtroom.

Hamilton pushes back and says "this is no Carrie Underwood song." He cites more serious incidents, including the claim of an IED.

Perry: "What was in that?"

Hamilton: "I don't know."

Perry cites the claims of "slashed tires" and "keyed cars."

"Some of this frankly sounds like a Carrie Underwood song."

Perry asks again whether, if the inability to execute the law is b/c of the feds' "own provocation, does that matter under the law?"

Hamilton: "No, if that were true, the fact still remains that we are seeing sustained violence against federal personnel and property in Illinois."

Perry: "For 19 years, Broadview had nothing but peaceful prayer vigils. … And then CBP shows up and then suddenly things take a turn for the worse."

Perry asks directly whether the feds started the alleged violence in Chicago.

She asks whether it matters if the inability to execute the law was "caused by the federal agents."

Hamilton: "No, your honor."

Perry: "I am very much struggling to figure out where this would ever stop, because the plaintiffs really believe that it's not going to just stop with that. You haven't told me it's just going to stop with that."

Perry: "You have not committed that they are only going to be deployed at federal property or in support of immigration and customs enforcement."

Perry is asking whether the law could be triggered by Illinois' sanctuary status.

Hamilton: "Well, so, it's a hypothetical. It's very different from the situation here."

Perry: "It's not. It's not a hypothetical."

She notes AG Pam Bondi has suggested just that.
