Here's footage of Welt's VA from Honkai Star Rail, Corey Landis, discussing how Mihoyo tried to get him to sign paperwork that would have relinquished the use of his voice-work to them to do whatever they want with it, and he could not sue them.

I was at PAX East last year, and the gaming floor was *sparse.* Mostly games that had already been out a few years.

The patent was applied for back in 2024. Right at the time of the SAG-AFTRA video game strike. And it was granted to them just now.

I cannot stress how much this is just another way to take away the ability to create art from artists.

We don't even get paid that much anyway!
