Rising Action, the first ttrpg I've ever completed, is out now!

It's a duet game where you play a pair of rivals having an ever-escalating battle where their past and passions collide.
Inspired by action anime/games and uses a deck of playing cards!

rebirth also has some serious tonal issues a plot that feels like it’s treading water more than moving forward a lot of the time which adds to the fatigue i think

I had to expunge my thoughts on Bluesky's current, uh, choppy waters into a proper blog post (which jay can't take down for being too mean or saying 'lol' in a threatening way)

like i eventually as i got older was able to see the world and even move abroad but much of my motivation came from seeing it first through the lenses of other real people...

growing up on an island much of my visual understanding of things like mountains, valleys, seasons, stars, etc came from watching videos on the internet. which i think adds to the absolute horror and also facination with the way slop destroys the fidelity to reality that internet video once had

so bluesky is also ramping up AI integration……. are we speed running the lifecycle of a platform or

imagine if a family of beavers randomly showed up right now and finished whatever thing you've been putting off
In early 2025, beaver activity in the Brdy Protected Landscape Area, Czech Republic, contributed to the restoration of a wetland ecosystem. A family of beavers constructed a series of dams that coincidentally accomplished environmental goals of the Czech government, which had delayed its proposed project since 2018 for bureaucratic and financial reasons. The beaver-built dams saved the Czech government approximately US$1.2 million,

Shattered City really pushes the limits of the pbta framework it uses there are so many layers and intersecting procedures that model the individual hero actions, player controlled faction level politics and intrigue and boarder events that take place across years

in the game
but now with the genre of farming sims having been more established we have a shorthand of 'yeah this tool does axe and hammer stuff' because the metaphors have been established and now we can put our attention to other things
akisperspectives.bsky.social
that genre itself? when your game has to establish the mechanical relationship between the tools and the environment from scratch it makes sense to give your character a separate axe and hammer because they would do different things in real life and thus it would make sense they do different things
akisperspectives.bsky.social
listening to someone talk about how they've streamlined the items in this farming sim now that you have a combination axe and hammer, while in the older games they would be seperate items you had to switch between

how much of that 'streamlining' is a result of the progress of games and
