Rising Action, the first ttrpg I've ever completed, is out now!

It's a duet game where you play a pair of rivals having an ever-escalating battle where their past and passions collide.
Inspired by action anime/games and uses a deck of playing cards!

i miss when i could look at social media and not have to confront the whole misery of the current moment - like i know it's important for people to talk about these issues but also like i can't deal with the lack of divisions between contexts - sometimes i can't handle all the pain mixed in

last night i got so engrossed in reading a book that i read from 11pm to 4am it was such a nice feeling to be so deep into it without worry (until i was very sure i should go to sleep instead of reading more)

when i’m reading on an ereader, the ambient light changes how the page looks, just barely, but it’s enough to place the words in the environment that i’m in and that’s something i don’t get from a screen. the screen is always that colour, always that warmth, unchanging, inorganic

with computer parts availability getting worse maybe we're approaching the future where the computing a lot of us take for granted today becomes more and more inaccessible for wide swaths of people

one of the nice things about academic writing is how self-conscious it is about being part of a broader project. (the broader project being inaccessible or uninteresting to some is a different matter)

but that sense of an active conversation, of grasping for meaning collectively, that's good.

it’s like, some things are just harder to draw than other things; ellipses are harder than straight lines, for me right now

when i first opened oddfolk i immediately started a doc to write moves to get it table ready, there’s something about the incompleteness it presents that makes you want to add to it and also makes you feel like you can

“how did you get into ttrpgs”

i saw them first on the web, thought cool but no one will do this with me. but then i started seeing it everywhere, it followed me into the streets, written on the signs and on the labels of cans. people muttering about it next time on the train. i had no choice
"how did you get into ttrpgs"

The moment I was born, TTRPGs pinned my shadow to the earth with a large brass nail and tore it from me. This is my first memory, the seed of many hours of therapy to come.
