Surprisingly poor fact-checking from the BBC here...
Ancoats Green and Central Retail Park are completely different spaces 🤦♂️
Honestly reeks of LLM/AI. Also amusing that the council leader is referred to as "a councillor" in subheading

Will you help us stop it by publicly standing up to Labour on trans rights, Ed? You did brilliantly in 2003 when you led the abolition of Section 28. We need that @eddavey.libdems.org.uk in the fight with us again.
We know where destructive divisive politics will lead. We know what’s at stake. And it falls to us to stop it.

Disappointing to see @manchesterpride.bsky.social make a decision to allow the Labour Party to save face and not get booed in public by banning all parties, including the LDs and Greens who actually stand up for trans rights, and have openly trans and non-binary elected councillors in Manchester.

Just four of Labour's 59 LGBTQ+ MPs confirm they believe trans women are women
PinkNews asked all 59 out LGBTQ+ Labour MPs whether trans women are women following Keir Starmer's comments

And now we'll have predatory male police officers strip searching cis women because they think she's trans.
This isn't just about trans women, it's about controlling women. No one is asking to define "what is a man".
It has always been, and will always be, about men policing women and femininity

At this week's council meeting I spoke out in favour of building more affordable and social homes in Manchester.
In a shocking discovery, only 17% of so-called 1,018 "affordable" homes built in the last 2 years meet the council's own definition of affordable.

Wonder if stats like these are just because adults project their own flaws into situations ('I use phone too much but phone bad so no phone for you child'), rather than getting to the root of the issue of what would improve educational outcomes
A new study has suggested that banning mobile phones in schools does not improve grades, sleep or behaviour
Nevertheless, the policy is popular, with 79% of Britons backing it in a 2024 poll

Pleased to see the assisted dying bill advance to a 3rd reading. It's noteworthy that a large number of MPs voting in favour were reticent to say how they were voting, think there is a 'quiet liberal' crop of new MPs cautious of reactionary attention.

My annual rant against a feminist campaign.
We don’t need to “ask her to stand”
We need to “make it feasible for her to stand”
We do that by reforming council chambers and parliament to not be geared to the lives of men with supportive partners. Fix the systemic misogyny so she wants to stand
