This stinks. At the very least, it appears to stink.
And that's a problem for judicial independence and the rule of law.

Congratulations to Adrian Chiles for his new role as leader writer at the Washington Post.
At this point, the Washpost edit page is just trolling its readers.

This is today's actual house editorial.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

The OBR was created to box in Labour, enabling Cameron and Osborne to implement austerity with limited political opposition.
It is a manifestation of the displacement of politics, reinforcing the idea that politics is technocratic and that ideology is irrelevant.

Brexit was never solely in the hands of the British government to deliver. Comparisons are of limited use to Irish reunification where the number of parties are smaller in terms of negotiation, and constraints on what is 'up for grabs' when constitution making could be set out in advance. 2/3

Otherwise, it's just sparkling rules-based international order.
No mention of applicable law or ICJ. No mention of Dept of Foreign Affairs witness confirming ICJ ruling covers both goods and services.

Yeah, why reform capital gains tax when you can just destroy higher education instead?
I'm not sure if this is the point of it but the Guardian budget game is incredibly simple: just reform capital gains tax.

Britpilled: the process of radicalsing an Irish person into a far-right reactionary through the consumption of British media and British social media.
You will have to imagine my surprise, because I am not surprised. The dogshit rightwing Irish 'patriots' who fall for this psyop should cop on = it's just another anglo invasion, wake up, muppets.

So, below is EU President von der Leyen saying that the EU is "not fighting fossil fuels, only emissions."

And here is the Saudi envoy to COP30 saying exactly the same thing.

I'm telling you: climate politics are unified around the lie that we can keep fossil fuels & still deal w climate anyway.
