Then Truss wrecked the economy by introducing unfunded tax cuts, now Badenoch is proposing to do the same, as per Farage. Meanwhile in Czechia a populist wins power by promising increased wages, pensions and welfare spending, and reduced taxes. How gullible can people be?

It's more elitism than barbarism. They believe that education is the preserve of the upper classes who can continue to study Classics and History of Art, and that the lower classes should only be offered training to take up their place in industry.

Can you name a leader who didn't tell the party (any party) what they wanted to hear? The problem is when the party wants to hear what is totally unrealistic. Liz Truss is an obvious example, that's how she became leader and look where that ended.
