Trump is doing 5-th century collapse entirely by choice and design.

There's nothing, absolutely nothing that forces the regime to commit such national suicide.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

Who do you believe- the reporter who says she did nothing wrong to cause her violent detainment and who they released hours later with no charges. Or the poorly trained aggressive ICE agents who hit a car as they sped away with the violently detained reporter? I wonder which one I believe? 🤔

in 2011, the president of antifa hired me to give fashion consultancy to the organization. i recommended everyone wear navy suits with tan shoes, dress sneakers, and golf polos with slim chinos. if you arrested everyone today wearing these things, you'd destroy antifa

Yeah, the history of mathematics is a really great way to trace how knowledge has been transmitted because mathematicians have been decent about crediting the contributions of other cultures, overall.

Back in the Roman days they apparently were, and there a WHOLE lot of extra fluff holiday days to sorta pad the calendar. Like 2 months worth of holidays.

If we cede the ground of Clearinghouse of Thought this ground will be taken by someone else. This is only natural.

When Newton said “I have seen further by standing on the shoulders of giants,” he humbly acknowledged the contributions that the people of the past made. But those contributions didn’t just have a component of time- they had a component of space as well.

The Indians invented the concept of “zero” which was transported to the Arabs. They further refined algorithmic thinking, which was transferred to Spain, then further afield where Descartes, Leibniz , and Newton shaped the field of mathematics further… and on and on.

It’s well established that innovation is spurred by cross-cultural pollinisation. This has been even true since the ancient times when the Ancient Greeks (who were huge cultural chauvinists) acknowledged that the philosopher Thales must’ve drawn on the knowledge of the Greeks & the Babylonians.

"One study attributes 30-50% of American productivity gains between 1990 and 2010 to skilled migrants. When it shuts the door to mobile talent, America is giving up one of the main ingredients of its success."

Also some of the children came away with the impression that “Carillon Park was built by robots 100 years ago.” Like, okay…

During the rest of the field trip they kept going up to the historical re-enactors and asking them if they were robots, too.
