Readers dear readers!

Seeing these come through has been a big highlight of 2025.

It's one thing WRITING another book.

Quite another hearing from others who are READING it.

I can't ask for any better than this review.

Still time to order for Christmas!

That includes my website - but anywhere online you expect to find paperbacks, ebooks or audiobooks The Snowflake Myth is available for you.

Publishing The Snowflake Myth has been such a highlight of this or any other year.

Very grateful to everyone who reviewed it too - a big thank you!

Out now as paperback, ebook and audiobook.

What are the collective responsibilities of your workforce?

If you asked them what would they say?

What would you want them to say?

So you apply for a job. In fact you apply for hundreds.

And then you find out it didn't exist.

I'm not even talking about the 'we put it out only because we had to - already filled by internal candidate' trick.
December 9, 2025 at 7:45 AM
Damn right I'm proud of this.

Not least in how conversations are changing.

There's still a lot of 'young staff just need to fit in or go away' (or versions of that).

But there's also plenty of 'how can we adapt to them?'

What does it look like in practice when a multigenerational teams has very different communication styles?

FINALLY the audiobook version of The Snowflake Myth is out now!

It's great to see it on Spotify, Apple and other places where I don't listen to music (I'm a Tidal person).

Seriously though it is available on audiobook platforms -

Maybe I shouldn't have blown the marketing budget on this.*

But it's still a big week.

The audiobook version of The Snowflake Myth:Explaining Gen Z in the workplace and beyond is about to be released across all platforms.

Some of my peers are intimidated by Gen Z.

We need to talk about ephebiphobia.

Ephebiphobia? Fear of the young.

"If you need to know the time Big Ben is opposite where you will be standing."

I love a room with a view.

And the top floor of the Urbanest building in Waterloo has got a good as view as any. Opposite the Houses of Parliament, London Eye and the river.

What a lovely bunch I worked with from the University of Birmingham!

But let me tell you they are a lot more than that - there's some deep thinking going on here about their multigenerational workplace and Gen Z within it.
November 20, 2025 at 7:45 AM
Sometimes I talk to people about Gen Z and they are at the start of their journey.

They have a sense that they may see the workplace, including schools, differently but not sure as to the how and why.

Let me tell you something uncomfortable about my generation.

Being a 'workaholic' was a badge of honour. Not a problem.

In The Snowflake Myth, I describe the truth Gen X often doesn't want to admit:

We didn't have work-life balance. Too often we had, and continue to have, work-life destruction.

Long hours culture never worked as people thought it did.

Gen Z has better ideas.

I made my Vistage debut last week, and it couldn't have been with a nicer bunch of folks.

A huge thank you to Antonia Maclean for all support in advance and help on the day.

Are you planning your 2026 conference lineup?

I'm seeing an interesting pattern in my booking calendar: some organisations are scrambling to fill late 2025 slots, while others have already locked in September 2026.

Looking forward to it - about to go live! @tre.radio

What a great crowd at the Richmond Learning and Development forum yesterday!

Of course having Davina McCall as the opening act to warm folks up didn't do any harm 😎*

A huge thank you to Carla Miller for having me on her show.

There are so many misunderstandings about Gen Z in the workplace, including on the role they might play in a multi-generational workforce.

Quiet brilliance is often overlooked.

Why?

Are introverts missing out in today's society?

In the end Sean Bean wasn't available to do the reading for my audiobook.

The same applies to Emma Thompson, Brian Blessed (tempting), David Harewood or Juliet Stevenson.

But then again I thought - I've got a great face for radio! Let's use it for an audiobook!

I really believe that senior leaders need the very best professional support.

Too often those who reach the top think that professional development isn't for them - yet it is when you need it most.

I'm proud to be associated with the Staff College and all it does.

It's an important date for us for three reasons.

First (and of course foremost), it's our wedding anniversary!

19 years in - and apparently it's BRONZE which is the official gift for this occasion. And I have to say the local shops were right out of it yesterday afternoon. So I am thinking again.
