I've been talking about this one for a while but thanks People Magazine for the nudge last week with the story on Ghost Jobs last week by Freddie Clemo.

But then to exploited at the other end too?

Next time you interview a young professional, just remember what they may have been through to sit at that table.

Yet this is experience of so many, including the Gen Z young professionals just trying to catch a break.

It's bad enough that there's almost 1 million not in education, employment or training.

Or that the number of job vacancies has reduced 40 months in a row.

The job didn't exist.

And the organisation may not have existed either.

It's a huge task for the big job boards to ensure the opportunities are real, and not just data harvesting. There's a lot of valuable information in CVs.

If you are going into 2026 wondering how you can hang on to your best young staff and bring new ones in - reading this is a good place to start.
