I believe for games without an upgrade path, they get treated as two different software titles. (i.e. two icons on the home screen)

You can tell which game is for which platform by checking the game's About page by pressing Start on the game icon:

The mesh router wouldn't happen to be the big white box right next to the monitor, would it? Maybe it has something to do with the lack of shielding in the router itself; modern stuff doesn't really compensate for old CRTs like that.
