I am a keynote speaker, virtual event expert, and a video meeting advisor. I have had a checkered career in the technology industry, where I have spent most of my time explaining complex concepts to people in ways that they can put them to practical use.
I am so ready to believe that this is satire, and so sad to accept it as reality.
Donald Trump just removed Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth from the list of free entry days at national parks.

They are being replaced with Trump’s birthday.

Try to find someone to come get a letter from you in New York City and deliver it across town for $1.

Now try to find someone to pick up that letter and deliver it to someone's home in San Francisco for that same $1.

The USPS is a bargain for taxpayers and an essential service.

I agree that this is an important issue for our country, but does anyone else share my opinion that the "double tap" terminology trivializes what appears to have been the summary execution of "shipwrecked" individuals?

It's not a "tap"; it's murder.

The U.S. taxpayers have been footing the bill for the employee benefits for many of the country's largest companies!

I don't see McDonald's on the list, but perhaps that's because the individual restaurants are owned by franchisees, not the parent corporation.
The Boston Globe identified the companies in Massachusetts that employ the most SNAP recipients. A key stat: "In Massachusetts, 74% of working-age recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are employed, half of them full-time."

There must be consequences if the Constitution and the rule of law are to survive. Not just to make the injured parties whole, but to deter future lawless actions.
$937,989.39: That's the amount of the penalty owed by Trump and Alina Habba, according to a new appeals court decision, which upheld a 2023 ruling that Trump and Habba committed "sanctionable conduct" by filing a "frivolous" lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and James Comey.

Once again, U.S. citizens are going to die because of the pointless and reckless anti-immigration policies.

Yes or no? Should telehealth be available for people?

"For nearly five years, pandemic-era waivers allowed patients to receive telehealth visits from home under Medicare and most commercial plans. That flexibility ended on September 30, 2025 when Congress failed to renew permanent parity."

Even if you are not "a person of influence," all citizens are responsible for what happens in our country. There is no way to sit this one out; there are no sidelines.
The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

"Insubordinate".

The President just stated that he sees the national media as subordinate -- lower in rank or position -- than him. He is above the media, above the Congress, above the citizens.

He clearly does not understand the assignment.

I've seen calls to abolish Presidential pardons. Judicial review of pardons appears to be limited -- even in the case of bribery or other corruption -- and apparently that power has never been used.

It appears that the only recourse is impeachment of the President for pardon abuse. Is that right?

As you hear about air traffic delays and cancellations, keep in mind that ATC has been understaffed and underfunded for years under multiple administrations. And the President made it even worse, long before the shutdown. The shutdown was not the problem.

When did the President start referring to himself in the third person plural?
Trump: "I stick up for Viktor Orbán. Not a lot of people do because in many cases they're jealous. They wish they did what he did. They would have no problems if they did what he did."

This is the "greatest military in the world"?

SHAMEFUL!
NEW: The US Army website for its bases in Bavaria, Germany told its soldiers and employees that it might need to obtain free food from the German government during the US government shutdown.

The Army later altered publication to remove a list of food banks, but we have the original text here:
US Army Tells Soldiers to Go to German Food Bank, Then Deletes It
The initial 'Shutdown Guidance' for the US Army Garrison Bavaria included instructions to go to German food banks.

The President says he "has reached a trade deal with China. In his telling, the agreement will have China begin buying soybeans and oil and gas from the United States. Trump said China will also “continue the flow” of rare earth materials. In exchange, Trump will cut tariffs on Chinese goods."
