Any Kiwis if you’re listening please chime in. No evidence of New Zealand vape black market as NZ makes legal vapes easy to get. But NZ & Australia both have sky high cigarette excise, both have sky high cig black market @aliveadvocacy.bsky.social @igas2.bsky.social @algore09algor.bsky.social
Has New Zealand's Governments - being soooooo Greedy for Cigarette Tax Revenue - that they have Forced Smokers on to the Black Market?
Australia has.

Q: Who would have predicted UK ban on disposable vapes would lead to surge in illegal sales with 63% of users still buying them easily from black market?

Since the U.K. banned disposable vapes, there's been a surge in illegal black market sales, with most users still able to buy them easily.

WHO COP11, its tobacco control conference, faced pushback against strict measures targeting vapes & nicotine products. Some countries advocated for harm reduction over prohibition. COP11 ended with voluntary guidelines, signaling a rejection of top-down model

range of tobacco harm-reduction products incomplete without clean addictive source of nicotine can compete commercially with cigarettes. Non-addictive NRT is a partial answer only, as evidenced by fact that it has subsumed only a minor portion of nicotine market.

Who cares how smokers quit as long as they stop! Why can’t tobacco control just allow harm reduction to complement conventional policies? Why hostility? Why need for phoney discounted arguments? @aliveadvocacy.bsky.social @igas2.bsky.social @algore09algor.bsky.social @ianamossyd.bsky.social
Funny thing happened on the way to buy some death sticks: I quit smoking. And then I noticed EVERYONE had quit smoking. And it was good.

But then I saw thousands of jobless tobacco control experts tearing their hair, gnashing their teeth and lamenting: "NO! You quit the wrong way!!!"

Evidence shows that children are now using e-cigarettes at higher rates than adults, a consequence of targeted marketing by the nicotine industry.

Quite a few experts who once opposed vaping changed their mind and started supporting vapes. But have any vape supporters reversed their position? Don’t think so.
AG Miller shifted his stance after reviewing science showing that moving smokers from combustibles to safer alternatives like e-cigs and pouches could save lives. Experts across politics saw the same evidence — harm reduction works.
