Operation Get to Hawes begins. Path clearance under way. Only 30 metres of uphill drive to negotiate after this.
Currently I am directing operations from inside - trying to ascertain if the road at the top of our drive is navigable.

It looked bleak outside at 7am. The Shropshire hills were shrouded in mist. The rain was biblical; the winds strong but I had great fun.
I ended the run by jumping into the stream in Cardingmill Valley and wading about (whilst picking out litter)- so pleased was I to see water now restored to it.

A lesson learned- if we've an hour for the car park it's best that estimating distance isn't up to me.
As we climbed, the heavens opened & the wind howled.
Trig gained, we'd 20 mins to make it back so a mad dash ensued - perhaps not the best prep for Frank's race!
