pleasing taste, some monsterism

Likes: decadent food, witchy ritual, noisy music, 80s horror on VHS, woodland walks, RPGs, David Lynch, Jan Švankmajer, industrial-strength performance art / physical theatre, books.
My personal top use case for YouTube is for 80s Halloween broadcasts, complete with spooky episodes, schlocky station idents, and creepoid commercials.

I mean, as far as opening lines go, it's very distracting. Of course I am going to go listen to Liquid Swords before continuing.

Silent Screams is out now.
It's the first anthology I've edited and I love every single story inside it.
If you prefer your #Halloween scares quiet and filled with creeping dread, then this is the book for you.

“How can artists make great theatre when they can no longer practise?”

Lyn Gardner asks about the conditions under which artists are expected to create, and what happens to theatre when opportunities to practise all but disappear.

Pizza Lasagna 2.0 — now with a layer of spaghetti carbonara* as well as the 8-hour ragu.

I hope my kids appreciate me following through with their cockamamie culinary fever dreams.

*Obviously not 100% authentic as I suspect that would turn nasty in the oven, but close enough to stay true.

Possibly the coolest venue this year in the #Edinburh Fringe is the actually submerged submarine in the port of Leith. A bit far out, but definitely worth the trek.

Here are some of my favourites in their programme 👇🏻
