It was created to legitimize transphobia, and is now being used to that purpose. It is also amplified by the professional concern troll like Jesse Singal.

1. A new journal report in the prestigious Medical Journal of Australia eviscerates the Cass review, saying it is filled with fallacies and launders anti-trans disinformation.

He is "not against GAC for minors" the same way Baroness Cass is not against GAC, meaning that his work, and fruits thereof, including it's use to prohibit/ prevent access to GAC for minors with not a peep out of him, speaks for itself.
That's the entire point of the concern troll strategy.

I understand that you're giving Signal the benefit of the double here, I did initially as well. But the fact of the matter is that there are hundreds of studies, going back decades, that support GAC for minors. There are well researched and established standards of GAC for minors. ( 1 of 2)

Nah man, I don't buy it. He has disingenuously positioned himself as an expert on GAC for minors, has beaten the anti access drum for a decade without any positive coverage, outright lied at least once, and misrepresented data.
That's deliberate, focused, agenda driven advocacy, not journalism.

"Structural issues" is the same excuse for cherry picking used by the Cass Review, which was roundly denounced for that.

And yes, he ignores the tried and tested established protocols and studies, and even the newer ones, like the Utah one, if they support gender affirming care for minors.

He hasn't outright said it, but look at his last 10 yrs of work. No positive articles, outright lies about a kid getting on hormones after a 10 min consult, ignoring studies that don't support his own drumbeat and providing sources to ADF. And no trying to distance himself from the results.

The only "treatment" for trans minors I've not seen him question is anti trans conversion therapy, aimed at coercing desistance. Everything else is undermined as unproven, experimental, and "just too much", despite decades of studies and data. Those are ignored becuse they don't fit his biases.

Jesse's entire point over the past 10 yrs has been to concern troll and deligitimize gender affirming care for minors with the aim of getting it banned. That's why he fixates on detransitioners and ignores any evidence that doesn't fit his bias (like the Utah study).
He's a 1 man Cass Report.

I would hesitate to label Brutus a troll, where Jesse hasn't provided any solid statements at all, just his usual "Just questioning" and " it's fraught", and then brings up a singular case of allegations where the response from the provider has been in line with Brutus' point.
