Just does concept experiments
Long ago, I lived in an apartment, and they once sent out notices informing tenants of an annual suite inspection.

Except it said 'Annul Suite inspection Notice' one time, and it continued on as a meme for years after. 'That's why the rent is so low', etc.

I started making a 'Mega-X-Vania' framework for Click Team Fusion 2.5. Started with me working to get dashing and wall jumping working, then it just kept going. That's where I've been. Anyway, I'll retreat back into hobbyist developer land again.

I'm still here, but back on Twitter so i can needlessly argue with people Alpha17x over there as well.

I want Sega to do FPGA re-releases of their old consoles. That would be amazing. Hell even a new run of some of the games.

The ROG XBox is more exciting than the Switch 2. Unfortunately from my perspective both companies have kind of taken a dump on the good will of their customer bases. Nintendo for charging people for the same product repeatedly, and Microsoft for just letting things rot.

Having seen it in person now. I'd say the Switch 2 is more like Switch 1.3. A modded Switch with higher clocks can hit much of it's performance outside of higher resolution, which is barely relevant due to most games' aesthetics. So much of the boost we're seeing now can be obtained via software.

The switch2 is available in massive abundance in my area. The nearest Walmart has 8 units of each bundle in the display case, Bestbuy had some. Even a drugstore we have; London Drugs which has an electronics section, had some.

Don't know how that bodes for anything. In the end it's a Switch Pro.

I've been using Linux for about a week now. The last time I tried to daily drive it was about 6 years ago.

The experience is massively improved. A lot of the time if you need a windows only app there's a guide or an install script to just do it for you.

I'll always think that if the Virtual Boy had been designed to use a head strap along with, or instead of the stand, and perhaps featured filters to change the color of the light. It would not have failed. I remember using it at a demo kiosk and thinking it was amazing, but also very uncomfortable.

PCB design is both less complicated but also just as complicated as I always thought it was. I made a proximity alarm in highschool, and then never touched it again, now I'm testing carrier boards.

The modding community has reached a point of understanding with how the SNES CD (Nintendo PlayStation / Nintendo Super CD) worked, and the loader rom has been found. So a functioning device is a very real possibility.

A lot of people left Twitter for this place for political reasons, which is fine, I didn't care and found it ready enough to get whole topics muted in a few seconds. I left because the feed was completely messed up. Like showing me week old tweets as if new, or not showing things from my follows.

Analogue's slogan should be 'Out of Stock'

Meld Studio has basic elements that make a good amount of the stream layout stuff I used to do pointless. I like it, a lot of that stuff I'd make, wondering why it wasn't natively a part of OBS.

IG stories are annoying when you first start using them.

Also; Why can you do 3D depth maps on Facebook but not IG when IG is supposed to be the fancy image platform.

Here's my astonishing set-up. The rest of the room is bare and empty because I use it for VR art and yes, games too. I'd make a pretty office but that's just more shit to get knocked over, ripped out, etc.

So I saw a video of that 'Raygun' lady from the Olympics, but break dancing outside of the Olympics. And she seems to actually be able to really do it. Reading past all the people making fun of her, her 'performance' was points targeted. Like someone making random squeals during Rockband.

I miss the days of the Dead Or Alive games being more 'relevant' I wish they'd have a kind of reboot/resurgence. The T&A could stay or go, but back when they were more about being a fighting game, It was pretty damn awesome.

When you think you've finished your drink, but just forget and it's nearly full. Feels good

Confession: I use USB foot switches as part of my workflow.

Undo, Redo, and pallet/brush/tool options.

Its a 3 pedal thing I got on Amazon for like... $45. I've been doing this for 4 years.

I was under the impression that Clip studio did away with perpetual licenses, either I was wrong or they're back. Either way; Yay

When the year 2000 rolled around (I'm old, I guess) I intentionally left an old computer I had upgraded away from unpatched for the Y2K bug.

What happened? The system decided it was January 1st of 1900 and a few programs that used the clock for security were like 'F-you, software pirate!'

Tools used: Zbrush and Blender for the model and the hair, Marvelous Designer for cloth physics, Substance 3D Painter for textures, Photoshop for this image with really shitty composition.

While Nintendo's pricing aligns with inflation, they're still lame for charging extra to upgrade to Switch2 editions (when there's no extra content) and for their tech demo.
April 12, 2025 at 10:56 PM
The Switch2 edition upgrades look almost as good as the original versions do on Yuzu.
